Birla Temple, Jaipur The faith of Jaipur in the Almighty is clearly reflected in its beautiful temples. One of the most beautiful and admirable temple of the pink city is Birla Temple. It looks awe-inspiring when it is lit at night. It was built in 1988 by Birla Group of Industries which is one of the well known industry houses in India. The group has also constructed some other temples in different cities of India. There is a small museum near the temple where the possessions belonging to the Birla family are on display. The temple is devoted to Lord Vishnu, the preserver of the Universe and his consort goddess Laxmi, the symbol of wealth. The temple is also known as Laxmi Narayan Temple.

The temple is carved pure white marble which gives a sense of purity and bliss to the devotees. Devotees from India and Abroad come here to pay respect to the divine. The Sculptures and images on the outer walls of the temple are noteworthy. They touch upon themes from the great Hindu mythology. The images of Socrates, Zarathustra, Christ, Buddha and Confucius along with three domes of the temple depict its secular nature. The shrine is an abode of several Hindu deities.
