Hotel Narayan Niwas Palace, Jaisalmer


Hotel Narayan Niwas Palace, JaisalmerNarayan Niwas Palace is a heritage hotel in the heart of Jaipur. It was built in 1928 by General Amar Singh, Thakur of Kanota, Commander of the Jaipur State Forces and a confidant of the then Maharaja, Sawai Man Singh. The actual construction was supervised by Thakur Shivnath Singh, the General’s brother. The mansion is named after their father, Thakur Narain Singh.


Narain Niwas was made as a country residence. This was and still is a garden house situated conveniently close to Rambagh Palace and other charms of Jaipur. Until World War II, Narain Niwas surrounded by a thick jungle where pig sticking (hunting of wild boar), shooting of game birds, and hunting of black buck and an occasional panther could be enjoyed by the royals and noblemen.


In its avatar as a heritage hotel with modern conveniences, Nayaran Niwas Palace has 43 spacious rooms that are all air-conditioned and beautifully furnished. Ethnic colors of fabrics have been used and regal ambience has been created to represent royalty at its best. The hotel offers 24 hours room service and special services such as ticket booking and sightseeing on request.


 There is a multi-cuisine restaurant, where Rajasthani, Indian, Continental and Chinese cuisines are available. The rooftop restaurant Mirage has a majestic view of the Thar Desert. There is bar situated in a garden, called the Pagda Bar and is decorated inn traditional Rajasthani style. Live performances of traditional dance, music and folk songs are organized here.


There is an indoor all-weather swimming pool originally made as a 'Bawri' or bathing place of the queens. A gym and sauna add to the leisure facilities as Narayan Niwas. Banquet and conference facilities make it a complete leisure and business hotel.
