Mount Abu


 Nakki Lake, Mount Abu, Sirohi, RajasthanMount Abu is the only hill station painted on the rustic canvas of Rajasthan. The cool weather it experiences makes it a popular summer retreat amongst the tourists. Spend a laid back vacation amidst the lush green Aravalis. Mount Abu in Rajasthan serves as a perfect place for spending a laid back vacation.


Being a hill station, the climate in Mount Abu is pleasant throughout the year. While you set out for the holiday, do carry some warm clothes along with you. The place also experiences moderate rainfall. The best time to visit Mount Abu falls either between February to June or from September to December.


Udaipur is the nearest airport which is185 kilometres off Mount Abu. Being 29 kilometres off, Abu Road is the nearest railhead. Mount Abu is connected to all the major cities of India through regular buses. You can also hire private taxis within Rajasthan in order to reach Mount Abu.


Accommodation is an important factor of any vacation at any place. Nothing can match the blend of traditional hospitality combined with modern amenities. For snacks and fast food, Hanky Fanky is the best eating joint. Apart from this, awesome pancakes are offered by the small restaurants lined up near the Nakki Lake. Do not miss to taste the local delicacies while you sit by the lakeside and enjoy the evening.


Though there are no huge shopping bazaars, you can still buy souvenirs from the Nakki Mall near Nakki Lake. A series of small shops offer items like leather ware, gem stones, items in sandstone at reasonable prices. For buying exquisite handicrafts you will have to visit the Rajasthan Government Handicrafts Centre. Shopping in Mount Abu remains incomplete without a shopping at the Khadi bazaar.


While you are in Mount Abu, the magnificent Dilwara Jain Temples are a must visit. The intricate architecture of these temples reflects the creativity and hard work of the skilled craftsmen who created it. Apart from this, Mount Abu is packed with several other attractions as well. A boat ride on the waters of Nakki Lake during the evening time is mesmerising. Watching the play of colours at the Sunset Point is a beautiful sight. Feel the mystical aura when you stand at the top of the highest point in Mount Abu, Guru Shikhar.


Indulge in the jungle fun by planning out a tour to the Mount Abu Wildlife Sanctuary where you can spot blackbucks and foxes. Also visit the Brahma Kumaris Spiritual University. Try out meditation and yoga. The joy that a trip to Mount Abu brings along will brim your heart to its fullest.
